Benji

Well I am currently spoiled for choice in what I can post, as I have a reasonable backlog of posts awaiting an airing – but on this occasion I thought I would appeal to Britain’s dog loving population for some cheap likes :-) This is Benji he is a Springer Spaniel – hes not actually my dog but my fiancée Mandy’s, but I love him to bits and he does keep me relatively fit – This is not usually the the type of shot I publish but I caught him hoping for a WALK and posing perfectly – enjoy – normal landscape, Lighthouses and Castles will resume shortly.

These are a lot of fun to post – I also get ideas and new locations from my feed (posts by those IG’ers I follow)

all of the IG’s can be purchased (or just liked) very economically from @skm1963 Twenty20 Gallery

I have started in earnest to capture all the Scottish Mainland Lighthouses and I am up to about 15 or so currently - I will start with the mainland and move on to the Islands and finish with those off shore that require boat trips - I fully expect to photograph them all several times - I am not limiting myself to creating a record but more an artistic diary maybe even eventually a seasonal shot for each lighthouse - so this not so much a big project but a huge one more than likely a lifetime project - keep watching. I have of course photographed Covesea (my home lighthouse to death) many many times. I have shots of Covesea in every light I have witnessed and loads of different angles. You can always find a new angle however and this was a real scorcher of a day. Enjoy

This is the famous Jacobite Steam Train on the Fort William to Mallaig Line (also known to some as the Hogwart's Express from the Harry Potter Movies). Although the weather wasn't the best I was set up to include the mini Lighthouse on the right and Ben Nevis in the background - definately a good recce shot for a better day (works quite well in mono but we shall keep that for another day) enjoy.

Impending FindhornFindhorn Big Sky

These two shots were taken from the same location on the same beach within 10 mins of each other (one looks west and one looks east) but that is where the similarity ends as the light determines the rest – quiet simply why I love living on the magnificent “Moray Coast”

I thought I would just quickly share this before abandoning the PC and telephone conversations with HMRC to spend 4-5 hours in the Lossiemouth sun. This was taken last night with a .6 ND Grad filter . According to all the magazine articles it is a landscape photographers bread and butter requirement. It certainly kept the sky under check and reduced post processing time which must be good. Anyway as I said sunshine here I come.

Hopeman Panorama

A glorious day today on the Moray Coast, the shot I was composing was simply not going to happen with a standard 24mm lens – so I decided to take a panorama of 5 images – Hopeman beach is more than just the coloured huts it is a rock-pool extravaganza with the tidal pools flushed twice daily it is a lovely clean beach with great dunes and protected by wonderful yellow gorse.

The blog has also passed a couple of barriers recently with 80,000 views and 800 followers onwards towards 100K :-). I value all your support and encouragement and in return I love seeing your images too. Moreover I get to steal your ideas and destinations (at least in my dreams). Thanks for watching Scott
