Above Pennan

Well I was out on a job this week in Aberdeenshire and the sea haar was thick and pretty un-photogenic returning along the coast the sun was burning off the fog – as I was passing Pennan the light was fighting to kill the fog and generate some subtle soft light – you may just get a taste of what I am talking about, by looking at the light on the field above the cliffs on the left of the image, where the light is electrifying the field  over the rest of the flat neutral tones. Anyway I turned off in to the steep decent and caught this view. Pennan famous of course for the film Local Hero is well worth a watch if you haven’t seen it. Endless Scottish beaches wonderful light humour and a magnificent Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) Soundtrack. Enjoy

Some changes then – I have altered the name of the blog – have no fears your subscriptions etc are all intact – in changing the name I am aiming to build my Google SEO. I thought this particular photograph suitable for this change as it is the sea lock which is located at the junction where the Moray Firth and Beauly Firth merge and you can enter the Great Glen onwards ultimately to Loch Ness (home of Nessie). In summary the lock is at a crossroads just like myself. One journey ends and another begin’s …
