York Minster Magic

A first trip south of the border for several years – led to visits to York Minster and the National Railway Museum (Blog coming soon) en-route Holyhead and ultimately on to Ireland (Blogs to follow).

York Minster was fantastic – if you recall I blogged my images of Notre Dam not too long after the fire and of course I recall the York Minster fire which occurred not long after I had joined the RAF – so it was wonderful to see the fully refurbished Cathedral. It did not disappoint – I found myself completely lost in the experience – in fact I ended up with 35 edits from this one visit alone – in fact I may well post a second blog with a collection of the small details. Anyway enjoy what I have selected for this post – I have to say the Chapter House completely blew me away and I dallied there for ages with very few interruptions.

  1. My wife-to -be and I visited not long after the fire as students on a camping holiday. I vaguely remember there being scaffolding and plastic sheeting there. Your top shot is rather splendid.
