Fabulous images Scott – and how lucky you are to live in such a photogenic part of the world.
I’d love to be able to look at more in detail but our glacial internet makes life difficult 😦
Well I very much hope you internet improves as it does give us the opportunity to view great images and ideas from other bloggers.
Love your blog. You have great photography technique!
Andrei that quiet a compliment which I really appreciate – thanks please keep watching
I love your photography Scott, you’re great at bringing out vivid colours. Some great composition too. I am envious of your location in the Scottish Highlands! One of the most beautiful places I have visited for sure, perfect for a photographer. Thanks for following my blog, it’s much appreciated 🙂
Ben I don’t quiet know what happened but I did reply to you a while ago – your comments are appreciated – you are correct I am very lucky to live where I do as I am passionate about Scotland and particularly the coast – glad you stopped by – please keep watching I hope to improve considerably this next few years. Scott
No problem Scott! Don’t worry I’ll be watching 🙂 Your shots of Scotland have me itching to go back! Might be best to wait until the winter is over though. Do you get out shooting much over the winter months?
great pictures! congratulations…
Danke, I am glad you were able to look around
ich habe mir neulich auch Panzer angesehen, aber in Russland und intakte… bin nicht so der Panzerfan, aber das hat fotografisch schon was sehr wuchtiges. Das verfallene ist gut bei deinen Bildern getroffen 🙂
Thanks for following my blog and liking my post!
That is my pleasure Michael
Hi Scott, just wondering what lenses you use. I’m looking to shoot more landscapes, so I’m in the market for a wide angle lens. Got one to recommend?
~Christy
very flattered that you ask – I use the standard Nikon 18-55mm zoom although I have tried a Sigma 10-20mm (Nikon fit which was very impressive. When I get to splash the cash though it would be a fixed wide so I can get a hold of that magic aperture 1.8…. If money was no option a tilt shift lens which eradicates the distortion normally associated by angling wide angles (very noticeable on horizons)
Thanks so much, Scott. I LOVE my 50mm 1.4, but I’m itchin’ for a wide prime so I can do more landscapes and cityscapes. Tilt shift is really cool. Lenses are a boatload of fun!
Congratulations, Scott!

Hi Scott, thanks for introducing yourself. Your photographs are stunning. I’ve never been to the highlands, although it’s been on my list for some time. Please check out the RAXA Collective facebook page too. We are posting companion items to our blog. See you there!
Many thanks for the follow. I love to take mind trips into your photographs. Living outside my native Scotland I carry my country with me always but visual reminders of this quality are greatly appreciated.
brilliant share thanks so much – any particular areas I should think about covering for you?
Great offer! My husband and I have just spent a glorious 2 weeks visiting some our favourite places starting in south Galloway and then wending a figure of eight path northwards to Poolewe, the fabulous Lochinver and Durness, returning via Huntly in Aberdeenshire (close to you) and the Borders. Any photographs of the Assynt area would be much appreciated. The clouds this summer are stunning.
Assynt is one of my favourite areas so keep watching
I certainly will.
Hi Scott, thanks for the follow. Reciprocated! Afraid my ‘Gallery’ is under-curated, it’s very much a side project – but do look in from time to time… I love your area, which we know quite well – spent several wonderful holidays on beautiful Lochindorb. All the best from Rolling Harbour
You have some fabulous bird shots from an amazing location. I know Lochindorb but have yet to capture it imaginatively but watch this space – I am persistant
wow, just came across your work and I am truly inspired 🙂 I thought I was getting better at photography but eeepp now I am not so sure haha 🙂 Fantastic 🙂
Scotland is one of the most beautiful parts of the world. I was unlucky with the weather when I travelled your country…it rained for several weeks. Your enigmatic photos will get me back there again, I’m sure. I bought a bearded collie and I watched collies working on Isle of Skye. That was really thrilling and interesting….And now I want to thank you for following my blog! i found you via Tahira – thank you Tahira – and now I’m not leaving you…

I just had to write and tell you that I think your photographs are stunning. I’m a beginner at photography, but now I’ve got a goal – to take photographs like yours. They really are amazing. A wonderful start to my day. Thank you. Blessings from Lizzie Joy
Well Lizzie I am flattered you think so – extremely pleased you took the time to share your thoughts as well. I am an amateur myself who would like to go pro and I am trying to find a way. I feel I have improved quiet a bit over the last year and the blog and other social media have helped me – mainly through composition (watching and learning). I am posting all sorts just now and trying a variety of techniques – You kind of have a feel for what works and what doesn’t. Anyway thanks for the words, hopefully we will watch you meet and exceed your goal. Regards, Scott

Hi there! And thanks for the like. As I’m sure you can deduce, I am in Scotland and about to post a blog about the heck of a day we just had! Love your stuff, and thanks again for making your way over the my blog :).
Well I look forward to reading about it via the reader. I am glad you had such a good time. I t must have been one heck of a day to generate the creative juices and produce a blog – so I look forward to seeing the result. Glad you loved my images and hope you drop back soon.
I have nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award. If you choose to accept the rules are posted here: geniespeaks.wordpress.com/2012/06/10/one-lovely-blog-award-2. If you choose not to accept; that’s okay, just know I really enjoy your blog.
Fantastic, thank you up until now I only had one award with your nomination plus another this weekend that makes it three. I will gratefully accept your award and comply with rules laid down – thank you so much, not just for dropping by but for taking the time to have a good look around and more importantly comment which as you know us bloggers truly appreciate.
Let me know how that goes for you. Lloyd and I have been seeking ways to increase traffic to our website. They seem to like the blog but getting them to the website is a challenge. I like the idea of having the gallery as a widget (?) on the blog. I hope it works for you. Your photos are amazing. If you can get people to do it, perhaps there is hope for the little guys out there (us). Thanks again for your comments.
I am looking a my whole footprint and social media marketing, still tinkering
Hi Scott, I would like to give you the Sunshine Award because your blog brings so much sunshine into my life!: http://lornastearoomdelights.wordpress.com/2012/04/27/more-gongs/ I haven’t followed the rules but you can find them here: http://megtraveling.com/2012/04/01/the-sunshine-and-genuine-blogger-awards/
I am beside myself my first ever blogging award – I will check out the rules and follow this up.
Many thanks Lorna but especially for continuing to visit my blog. In fact while I think of it – I was in a cafe last weekend in Gairloch http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g315988-d1906668-Reviews-Mountain_Coffee_company-Gairloch_Scottish_Highlands_Scotland.html
nice food overpriced and their attitude was questionable
Thank you for the tearoom tip Scott, and my pleasure to pass on the award. I think your photos are fantastic!
I love your photographs! They each tell an unique and interesting story. Thank you for sharing, and for following me. Your photos make me want to visit. Nice work.
cheers Guys
