Unfortunately, I haven’t been taking many photos or traveling as much recently due to family commitments. When this happens, I often revisit my archive to look for images I may have overlooked or those that remain unpublished. This particular image is one such unpublished photo from my Shetland trip in 2021. We were truly fortunate with the weather; it was a long walk across peat-cutting fields, but it was well worth it to capture the stunning range of colors present in this magnificent seascape.
I LOVE Shetland and am now thinking back to January 2024 when I attended Up Helly Aa. This was our second trip to that amazing place. I felt I had come home. Your photography is superb!!!
Yes we preferred it to Orkney as it is rugged and can be appreciated from the land versus the sea. The only other island that comes closes for me is Harris
We travelled to Harris in August 2016. It was an unforgettable adventure. Yes – very much like Shetland.
