What a scene! Easdale ferry departure “Eilean Èisdeal” is one of the Slate Islands, in the Firth of Lorn, Scotland. Once the centre of the Scottish slate industry, and home of the World Stone Skimming Championships. This is the smallest of the Inner Hebrides’ inhabited islands and is “home to traditional white-washed cottages, a small pub and disused slate quarries”. One of the latter, filled with water, is used for swimming.
Maybe small but always loved exploring this little “industrial”
Ooops.. missed off Gem. 😄
Yes the story is intriguing and superb views all around I would like to return on a moody light day, could be interesting.
Easdale, Buckpool, just two harbours of many roind our coast. In todays age of rail, motorway and air transportation, we forget that boats were the key to our transport on sea and rivers
Gorgeous!! 🤩🤗
These island are former slate quarries and now home of the World Stone Skimming Championships. A very scenic location with views in all directions.
