Sumptuous light on Lochindorb with a still, calm loch framing Lochindorb Castle – allegedly the lair of the Wolf of Badenoch – Alexander Stewart
There were many castles included in the Wolf of Badenoch’s real estate portfolio, including Drumin Castle at Glenlivet, Castle Garth near Glen Lyon and Ruthven Castle near Kingussie. However, his chief residence was Lochindorb Castle. Lochindorb means ‘Loch of Trouble’ in Gaelic. It seems an appropriate name for the Wolf’s lair. Located on a loch, surrounded by hills, in the middle of the Dava Moor, the castle would have been virtually impregnable. It is a wild and inhospitable landscape well suited to a wild-hearted prince, at odds with his siblings and causing havoc in the north. (Copyright Spooky Scotland)
WOW! What a beautiful view… Thank you dear Scott, Have a nice day, Love, nia
Cheers Nia it was so calm – perfect for flying
Oh! for a drone… resisting temptation. Furst time I photographed the island for a travel magazine, it was an MPP technical, 5 x4 sheet film ektachrome, either 10 or 15asa. Hard to think how we managed
Don’t resist any longer David the modern ones are so easy to fly and take top quality images. I took a shot of this scene with my previous drone and the picture was okay but this one is now about 7 years old still fly’s well and takes superb photos but I do fancy one of the smaller drones and you don’t have to the CAA flying exam.
Maybe.. 😄
