I thought it only right and proper to share the other side of Skye (the we dont often have sunny days here Skye) this image was captured about 10 hours prior to Elgol 50 which allows for some compare and contrast. The shot is slightly further up the beach but in essence it is the same view (just a little tighter) the mountains had been drifting in and out of cloud – but on this occasion i liked the fact that you could see just the hills and cloud obscures the rest of the view. The challenge here was keeping the lens dry…. Enjoy
Lovely moody sort of atmosphere. Looks like my favorite sort of weather….
Those clouds make the shot for me. One gets bored of sunny, cloudless skies very fast.
Excellent. A I age I am becoming more attracted to mood and less to bling in landscapes. This ticks boxes.
with you there Rachael publishing less as I raise my own standards – tending to blog stuff, I have tried something different with – closer to home this limits to outstandingly different lighting conditions but further afield I (due to travel costs) I have to take what I can get.
Might be a good b&w in that
Love the rain and mist it keeps the mystery.
Another stunning shot Scott.
cheers Rigmover – keep tuned I have few good ones in the can currently 🙂
Wow. That’s a real impressive landscape.
you are welcome to return to my blog anytime 🙂
Superb light Scott
Aye Brian it was – very spoiled seeing Skye in all it’s guises in 2 days
I love Skye! Ever been to Saucy Mary’s?
No but I seen the sign and drove past it – looks good and I hear the music is great
The music and dancing went on into the wee hours of the morning…
That’s terrific Scott! I would enjoy some of that mood here where it’s almost always a nice sunny day practically to the point of monotony.
I completely get that Phil – I have been to Cyprus where the weather every day is predictable – I do enjoy chasing the light
I love the colours in the stone, too. Missed Elgol so off to check! 🙂
lots of weathering Jo – some yellows too – well worth a visit – I recommend Coruisk House
Beautiful! Lovely composition and a really nice mood to this one!
Cheers Adrian – it was lovely to see this in the sun though
I have only ever had one clear spell at Elgol….but I will try again more in hope than expectation! Just glad I have good Gore-Tex. The ghosted image of the hills is just fine.
This was my first trip David – I know I was spoiled but I have learned from the recce
Now that’s more like my Scotland. Nice! 🙂
Aye lassie it is dank and moody – 2 mins previous my lens was covered in raindrops
Great photograph… I loved it. Thanks and Love, nia
Nia as always thank you _ I cannot generate your volume but hopefully I make you smile
