I know – I know another lighthouse, leave me alone – I like them. An exceptional morning on Lossiemouth West Beach, Covesea Lighthouse has just succumbed to the first light of the day. The tide is full out offering a glass surface reflection even the lug worm trails are seeking the warmth of the morning sun.
I have never seen a ighthouse for real, so every photo of one looks nice for me.
Morning light and lighthouses – I have an obsession with Turnberry at 5 in the morning.
That I get – I was brought up on the west coast beaches of Croy, Dunure and because of Golf I got Turnberry completely
My 17th century ancestors are from Colmonell and Ballantrae and I grew up in Largs so I ‘own’ this stretch of the coast! Nothing quite like a spot of ex-pat megalomania.
At least you shoot a variety of lighthouses, unlike me with my obsession with La Corbiere. Lovely shot with your trademark wide-open space.
I have a dream to capture all of Scotland’s lighthouses – I wonder if I will realise it.- and as for wide open spaces – you need to check my latest Rachael
Sin Duda EL Madrugar Algunas Veces Tiene Grandes Recompensas… Muy Buena.
Estoy de acuerdo, madrugando por lo general ofrece una gran luz. Gracias por comentar Jose
Absolutely lovely scene Scott.
Cheers Phil it was one of those pretty much takes itself – due to the light.
Awesome! Your new looking blog is better, at least for myself.
Lautal – That is very good to hear – I feel it is good for review my archive – for new followers – the beach shot took itself the light was awesome
Let me think of the right word…”Gorgeous” seems to be very much on place, Scott! 🙂 One could just sit and meditate…
Ese your comments are always easy to respond to – although on this occasion I am inclined to agree – ha ha
Thank you, I kind of hoped you would! 🙂
Oustanding sea- / sky-scape… and definitely enhanced by the lighthouse! RH
Well thank you for saying so – I am completely addicted. This Lighthouse was deemed no longer required due to modern navigation – but has been purchased by the community so we shall have to see what the future holds.
Captures the mood so well. As for lighthouses…..they were built not to guide sailors but to be photographed – well that is what I think!
David I do believe you have point here – I completely agree as I was pointing out to Lorna (of Tearoom Delights I wouldn’t visit her blog though or you become addicted to Tearooms over Lighthouses). I was saying that I have an ambition to capture all of Scotland’s Lights bathed in Glorious Light – although I know it will be both costly and lengthy – the best projects though.
The ‘Retirement’ project then? Will not be long now before you are free to start that new career.
Good morning, yes it is getting close – my last day at work will be Jan 03 2014 🙂 although I wont finally leave until May 14. Cant wait David – very excited.
This is amazing view what you captured dear Scott, fascinated me… Thank you, love, nia
Great Nia – I have been reading a lot about your City of Istanbul – it looks amazing.
Beautiful, I can always take another lighthouse.
That is good to hear as they are pretty addictive – I have an ambition to try and photography all the Scottish Lighthouses bathed in gorgeous light – will take a while but what a legacy
That’s a terrific idea, and then you could bring out a book of all the images.
yes it should be out in about 15 years – lol
Stunning
cheers Angi and thank you for your comment please feel to roam around my archive – I enjoy your posts very much
Thank you Scott and likewise 🙂
Great shot Scott
Mark that is appreciated
If you can post beautiful scenes like that of a lighthouse, then I think you should post a lot more. For reasons I’m still trying to figure out, there aren’t a lot of lighthouses on the prairies.
Lyle your comment is appreciated but I wouldn’t dwell to long over the Lighthouse on the Prairies dilemma 😉
