As Lyle is beginning to believe Scotland is permanently bathed in sunshine, I thought I would take you back a week or so to the period of strong winds which we had – I tried my level best to trash a 24-85mm Nikor attempting to take a dust bowl live (silly me). Realising I was losing out badly to nature I headed to the field next door and got this. It doesn’t fully help you appreciate the weather condition’s. However if you look across the the image there are clues everywhere. Perhaps there is a bit too much going on – either way we needed to move away from Torridon just briefly.
cheers I checked your blog through the early adopters article – glad I did
You are a brave soul attacking a dust bowl! Anything for the photo – I’m impressed. As for your sunshine – I checked your weather report and you certainly don’t seem to get much of it. By the way I seem to have missed a few of your posts since WordPress suddenly tells me I’m no longer following you. Odd. You’re the second one to fall off like that.
Lyle don’t worry about it – I have missed loads of posts by people but I catch up eventually – probably one of the reasons I enjoy the blogging – nobody gets narked. Regarding the dust bowl – foolish is a better choice of words tbh. I had already lost a lens to a sandstorm on the beach and failed to learn my lesson
Un travail spectaculaire sur ces photographies qui font rêver, je viens de parcourir votre site c’est fabuleux
Merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire. J’espère que vous reviendrez souvent
Great pictures!
many thanks Sir
What an awesome image!!
Cheers Laura – it was shot out of nothing as I was failing miserably to take a shot in the next door filed to no avail.
That happens to me so often. Someone once said…”turn around when you’re out taking a photo because a lot of times you end up with something completely different”. Have a great day 🙂
A side of Scotland I’ve never seen 🙂
a first Lee that is good – we tend to get this level of sustained wind for a couple of weeks in the Spring. Beyond that its just a odd day here and there.
Love the tracks pulling the eye into the field.
the tracks attracted me straight away if I could have captured the hooly that was taking place in the next door field – I would have been happy but it would probably have cost me the lens but I simply couldn’t see anything
I would be worried for my camera in that situation, I hope you didn’t get too much dust in your lens.
it was crunchy for days ha ha – interestingly I trashed a lens 2 years ago on the beach same situation – you would think I l would learn
You have there a lot of sand, if I am right.
yes Sir you are
What a beautiful image this is.
Thank you Lisa – it was an interesting day
Arizona comes to the Highlands!
aye a real dust bowl – at least I didn’t trash the lens
Wonderful blog and pictures!
