Macbeth “live” Elgin Cathedral

Busy Busy Busy - I have been trying to post for nearly 4 days but continuously get distracted - the last 3 evenings we were BBQing which means snoring on the sofa by 9pm :-) Anyway last week we went along to Elgin Cathedral (what a setting) to watch Macbeth - there was atotal of 5 actors covering all the parts - a very impressive line fluff free performance - quiet brilliant. However for me it was the setting and the ever changing light on the Cathedral which was attracting me. Annoyingly it was about 30 mins after I took this it got really good - but I decided I couldn't get out my seat again out of respect for the performers. - Enjoy

  1. I think the light in this shot is sublime so can’t begin to imagine how it could have got any better! Love that shadow on the right. Another cracking shot.

  2. I’d love to see that! Wonderful setting and that play – perfect. Good you didn’t try twice.

  3. What a venue for a classic drama! Terrific shot really captures the essense of the past with the reality of today. The shadows are hauntingly wonderful.

  4. Looks wonderful, and brooding weather to suit the play. Elgin Cathedral is such a beautiful place – it’s a while since I’ve been there, and it’s good to have a reminderโ€ฆ RH

    1. Well you should put it in the diary for next year. We got notified via the Historic Scotland activity email and were spoiled with the weather.
