Callanish Moonlit Aurora

After the dismal sight of Notre Dame suffering I want to share some good news in fact from my perspective great news. As many of you will know I have been looking to improve my photographic skills through competition and Judging photographic competitions. I have had some but mainly mixed success, until now that is. I entered the The 96th Scottish International Salon of Photography and this year I have had 2 images (which you have seen before) accepted. To say I was buzzing and completely over the moon was an understatement. Salon is the top level of competition and to say the standard is high would be an understatement. I feel this is a major stepping stone as I progress what is effectively my second career.

If you live near Kirkcaldy in Scotland you will get an opportunity to see how the standard was at the Salon Exhibition will be co-hosted by the Scottish Photographic Federation, and one of our founder Clubs, Kirkcaldy Photographic Society, who are celebrating their 120th Anniversary this year.

The Exhibition is being held at Kirkcaldy Galleries, War Memorial Gardens, Abbotshall Road, Kirkcaldy KY1 1YG and runs from Sat 18th May to Sun 9th June 2019. Full details about opening hours of this year’s Exhibition venue will appear here very soon. Visit the Gallery website for how to get there (click here)

  1. My sincerest and heartfelt Congrats, Scott! A goal is reached and you are so well deserved of the prize! Please notify if it would be possible to see some of it on the net!

    1. Thanks so much Leya – I am certain there will be a portfolio online as you can see the winners from the 95th Salon, but I don’t think it will appear until the Exhibition opens in May.

    1. Oh thank you so much, was not quiet to that standard but on the edge, last year I didn’t make it so this is a big move forward – small steps as they say.

    1. Mark you are so kind and have been a great supporter of my blog from the off so thanks again – apologies that it took me so long to respond – but in all truth I missed it – sorry. Scott

  2. Well done laddie boy….. great images. If I had to make a choice I would pick the Fishing boat as my favourite. But that is what we expect from you, creative images. If the Gallery/Society do a web cast of the exhibits for those of us ‘far away’ it would be great to know.

    1. Thank you Gunta, I tried last year at this level and didn’t quiet make it. So I was thrilled this year . Thank you for all your support over the last few years – especially as I try out my monos lol.
