Inverness Castle (Scottish Gaelic: Caisteal Inbhir Nis) sits on a cliff overlooking the River Ness, in Inverness, Scotland. The red sand stone structure evident today was built in 1836 by architect William Burn. It is built on the site of an 11th century defensive structure. Today, it houses Inverness Sheriff Court. There has been a castle at this site for many centuries. The castle itself is not open to the public but the grounds are.

  1. Wow Scott, having just looked through your work on here I must say I was very impressed with your skill and talent. I have taken a very similar shot of Inverness castle myself but it’s always nice to see and appreciate other versions 🙂

  4. Really like the composition in this Scott, aswell as the lightening ,eventhough you had no say in it here I supose.
    Getting better in your nightshots, so we’ll be waiting for the Northern Lights next 😉
