Thanks Phil – Firstly my apologies in being so tardy in such a late response my excuse is moving and all the associated stress associated with it – the long and the short is I have not been out and about as alluded to in this post and worst still I have been atrocious in responding to you wonderful comments. I will be honest and say that I don’t expect to be back on track for about another month. But I shall get sorted and I will start posting and responding bang on time.
For now to allow me acknowledge you all and explain where I am please accept this en masse response.
I love blogging and sharing my photography and being inspired by yours. So please keep coming around my blog or enter The Digital Light Rooms competitions and I will see you there ( I am one of the 5 judges)
Thanks once again for patience . Best Regards Scott
Scott,
I am envious of your photographs! When we visited the chapel several years ago, with camera ready, the guards wouldn’t allow us to take any photographs. I secretely took a couple by holding my camera at waist level, pointing it upward and pressed the shutter button a few times. You can imagine the results…less than impressive to be sure. Nice shot and explanation, too. Thanks for sharing. Michelangelo’s paintings are truly a treasure to behold.
Michael
Michael that is exactly what I did – I took a seat centrally iso 1600 and bang – I got lucky (I have colour balanced in post processing to remove a yellow cast which I had. tbh there were better parts of the Vatican – this I felt was little underwhelming. The roof at Burghley is just as impressive. That said the images have all been used again and again.
You have been watching the heavens again!…..somewhere you will never forget.

It goes without saying but this is awe inspiring. It must have been amazing to see it in the flesh, so to speak.

It’s like being there! Thanks, Scott.
Thank you Johanna
Fabulous picture Scott. This is somewhere I haven’t visited but certainly hope to one day. How Michelangelo stretched perspective so that the paintings looked correct from ground level has always amazed me. The work of a genius.
