It is moments like these that have convinced me to live here on the Moray Coast. That pre dawn moment, the town is still asleep not even the dog walkers are out just an idiot with a tripod – a calm nervous silence is all around.
nervous silence? I’m having a bit of trouble picturing that. But pretty wild, spectacular sunrise anyway!
an explosion of Light Gunta – this was the tip of the iceberg as the ball of light broke above the distant horizon 😀
Worth getting up for.
Yes it was thanks for the comment
You are so nice dear Scott, Thank you for your thoughtful reply, Blessing and Happiness, love, nia
Nia you are far to kind
Awesome shot, Scott. The colours are wonderful. 🙂
Firstly my apologies in being so tardy in such a late response my excuse is moving and all the associated stress associated with it – the long and the short is I have not been out and about as alluded to in this post and worst still I have been atrocious in responding to you wonderful comments. I will be honest and say that I don’t expect to be back on track for about another month. But I shall get sorted and I will start posting and responding bang on time.

Hi Scott, sounds like a lot going on! Moving house is one of my worst nightmares so I do sympathise. Wishing you all the very best and take your time – don’t need to apologise about late replies. Looking forward to seeing more of your work when time allows! Jo
Great sky. Like Phil, the colour in my sky happens much later in the day. Glad you could be there to capture it.
I have to force myself lyle – I am no lark definitely an owl
I’m glad you are up early to capture these wonderful scenes Scott. I’m much more of a sunset guy myself.
Phil, trust me I am very like you a sunset guy 😉 but we do get cheat sunrises at this time of year
Beautiful.
Thank you so much
Those are the moments you never get tired of……just a longing for the next magical dawn
I agree David there is a sense you are part of something
Scotland is calling!
It does even to me and I live here – Rebecca
🙂
What a start to the day. I can almost smell the fresh air in your photo and sense the promise of good things to come. A delight!
interesting descriptive from you Lora – always in a sense of food. ‘smelling the fresh air’
Someone has been up early 😉 Was looking at the sunrise myself this morning, my favourite time of day. It always starts with so little colour but so much promise, only to explode minutes later. Very hard to put that in a photo, but you managed it.
I much prefer the pre dawn light ahead of the burst/ explosion as the sun breaks – although if you are set up about 15 mins before sunrise it is quiet a journey you can even adjust your position subtly to get several different shots from the same session.
