I thought I would just quickly share this before abandoning the PC and telephone conversations with HMRC to spend 4-5 hours in the Lossiemouth sun. This was taken last night about 22:00 with a .6 ND Grad filter . According to all the magazine articles it is a landscape photographers bread and butter requirement. It certainly kept the sky under check and reduced post processing time which must be good. Anyway as I said sunshine here I come – enjoy!
Oh that’s yummy…..I’ve fallen out of love with my ND filters…. 😦
But this is lovely.
oooh, love this!! I just bought a set of nd filters and have yet to use them…now I’ll definitely dig them out! Love the reflection here!
Great shot Scott and the filter did well.
Wonderful shot. With the gradient filter, what part of the scene are you determining your exposure from?
Just above the water in the dark seaweed – the reflection from the water was extremely strong which was over exposing to take a reading from closer.
Whoohoo! Stunning!
Hey Gunta what a fabulous response – glad you like it.
so beautiful…
many thanks – cheers
That’s a beauty.
Cheers Lyle it was a lovely evening but not exactly what I saw – I wish I had a lens as capable as my eyes
That would be quite something. I’d like one of those too.
Additionally to artist ND is doing great job!
Cheers Sir I suppose it just gives the camera a better chance of balancing the sky and the ground
How much ND? Just wondering…
It was a 0.6 ND Robert
OK – two stops then – nice work!
wow! stunning!
Thank you so much really wonderful response
Great
cheers David
Stunning image, Scott. Enjoy your weekend. 🙂
Beautiful shot, Scott 🙂 The sky looks so good … nice composition.
Thanks so much Sreejith the sky was fabulous
nicely done!! I’d love to get one of those filters. Can’t wait to see what you do next!
I invested in 3 of them 1/2/3 stops of grad – I also have been gifted a Lee big stopper for the milky sea shots – so watch this space will need to play quiet a bit with that I think.
That’s so cool!! I’ve read about the Lee Big Stoppers.
They certainly do ‘what it says on the tin’! Smashing image Scott.
Cheers Adrian – I am now in a position to invest a little in kit but trying not to go mad on the premiss the camera does the graft – I do the composition ha ha
