I long for Spring

The classic Scottish Golf tease it could be Turnberry to the uninitiated it is in fact a small 9 hole course called Covesea after the lighthouse in the early Spring not that long now the yellow sea of gorse comes alive and we know we are emerging from winters grip.

  1. So do I long for spring, Scott – and I can almost smell it, in your pic! Just look at those glorious blues. How long can it be??!!

    1. not soon enough – I just need some light either side of work and I will be much happier. The yellow of the gorse s what really draws me here and the scale of the small golf green amongst the sea of yellow.

  2. We have a golf course at Bandon that has the gorse, too. No matter how hard they try to eradicate it. 😉

    1. Unfortunately Graham the light was switched off last summer and the cottages are no longer holiday homes. The local community are trying to buy the Lighthouse and market as a tourist attraction.

    1. Interesting Lyle I was a little frustrated by the sky myself – I was attracted to the small golf green framed by the very powerful yellow gorse – in full bloom it is a formidable sight
