The colour grey being both motionless and emotionless, grey is solid and stable, creating a sense of calm and composure, relief from a chaotic world.Β The colour grey is subdued, quiet and reserved. It does not stimulate, energize, rejuvenate or excite. On a more positive note – Rattray Head Lighthouse is much sharper than my previous attempt – progress π
Congrats on your nomination, Scott. Missed this one. I love it! π
I’m voting.
Stunning Scott.
so beautiful sir
Thank you so much

Those three stones on the shore are important here – great shot and colours.
I tightened the crop in but felt these added interest – so glad someone else agreed – cheers Leya

It takes a lot of different colours to make this magical grey as seen in your glorious picture. Reminds me of the paintings by Alexander Naysmith.
yes I can see the connection in the colour profile after looking at several of his paintings online – really glad you like it and commented – thank you
This is very fine.
cheers Graham
Beautiful colours, a lovely photo Scott!
Yes the colours are lovely – the sun had just dropped behind the dunes offering the cooler colour scheme which allowed me to control the lighthouse minus a grad
Fantastic seascape Scott!
cheers Phil always appreciated
Outstanding as always Scott π
what a star – thank you consistency is getting harder
Maybe in all the photos you take but the ones you post remain top notch.
That’s a great photo – very evocative. RH
evocative is an excellent description – many thanks RH
Now that’s putting a lighthouse in its best light! Beautiful.
I was so chuffed after over exposing this last time around – interesting reading your cropping blog – as I cropped this quite a bit – using the stones bottom right as my buffer
The stones have to stay and I like the overall composition. Cropping is a big deal.
It should be no surprise I love that fog creeping in….
excellent – it was changing fast Gunta – splendid sunshine had lead to lots over exposed lighthouse shots – then the sun dipped behind the dunes and calm reigned π
Lovely image Scott…great light bathing the lighthouse
cheers Mark is was very tranquil
Sheer poetry, Scott, in word and picture.
many thanks – a lovely response Lorna
Well composed image, Scott π
Many thanks Sreejith
Now that is one shot I really feel at one with…..its the mood that does it. You have the light just right
now that is a wonderful response David many thanks – I was just pleased to get the lighthouse right – must start using ND filters
This is beautiful and I feel very green ( the ugly old envy monster π
Green is good Amber (blimey getting very colour complicated – ha ha)
