I tend to remove all trace of human impact on the environment but on this occasion the road was my main focus to lead you through the landscape and allow you to feast your eyes on the sumptuous light – It could be almost anywhere in Scotland but this happens to be Skye – Enjoy
Lily – I am really flattered and I am truly glad you enjoy my blog – however I am atrocious for responding properly to these awards – but I really appreciate the gesture Lily many thanks
Excellent composition!
straight out a book Lautal 😉
I hadn’t noticed that you were in the habit of deliberately removing all trace of human impact, but I think the road is a great addition to this picture. It would still be a magnificent scene without it, but the road makes it feel less hostile. I wouldn’t mind being there right now.
I tend not to include people (only sometimes in the distance for scale) just not sure about showing roads – man intruding on the landscape so to speak
Definitely looks like southern Utah… or Nevada… or Arizona… inspired composition and lighting and color. Wow!
Phenomenal!!
Wow my sort of reaction thanks a lot Soonie
a lovely picture…:-)
Ah thank you for commenting
I would’ve guessed northern Utah until I read your description. Pretty locale!
Is there not to much foliage for Utah?
Utah is mostly a desert region and looks remarkably similar to your picture.
Beautiful shot.
many thanks Rabirius
I’ve hit the jackpot this evening, Scott. I’ve just come from Steve McCurry’s blog and earlier I found some beautiful landscape shots in the Daily Post’s feature on composition. Now this 🙂
now that is very pleasing to hear
Lots to like here including the colours and the curve.
cheers Lyle, never sure if people like to see roads – man’s intrusion and all that
Great Photo!
Many thanks Katerina
Very nice Scott! Love seeing a road dissect the landscape like that.
Cheers Rob – as I said I wouldn’t normal use a road but I saw someone else do something similar and thought it worked, cheers
Great shot!!!
Nice curving lead-in lines and beautifully tinted light
Graham after having seen your most recent blog and compositional skills I will happy take your comment and smile.
🙂
Love the drama!
excellent – I must admit that is exactly what I saw when I walked in to the shot.
🙂 🙂
A beautiful blog deserves a beautiful award 🙂 http://lilywight.com/2013/07/27/promoting-peace-throughout-the-blogosphere-blog-awards/ xx
